Support for everyday living

The support we provide

Care shaped around
the person’s needs.

Daily activities can become harder with age, illness or reduced mobility. We begin with the person’s preferences, abilities and routines, agreeing where help is useful and what they want to continue doing for themselves.

A clear support plan sets out tasks, visit arrangements and family contacts. Respect for privacy and participation in decisions guides the care, with clinical concerns referred to the right professional.

Personal routines

Assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting, guided by the person’s needs, preferences and privacy.

Meal and feeding support

Practical meal assistance and help with feeding within the agreed plan. Swallowing or other clinical concerns require professional assessment.

Companionship

Company, conversation and engagement that reflect the person’s interests and familiar routines.

Light homemaking

Selected household tasks, laundry and meal support, with the included work agreed clearly as part of the care arrangement.

Respite for family caregivers

Scheduled support that gives family caregivers time for rest, appointments or other responsibilities while care continues at home.

Overnight and extended care arrangements

Discuss longer periods of support with the team so coverage, caregiver responsibilities and practical terms can be agreed around the person’s needs.

Your care arrangements

How care is arranged

  1. Step 1

    Discuss daily life and preferences

Tell us which activities need support, the existing family routine and the times when help would make a difference.

  2. Step 2

    Agree the support arrangement

We assess needs and agree tasks, boundaries, scheduling, family involvement and costs before support starts.

  3. Step 3

    Review care together

We check whether the arrangement meets the person’s needs and discuss changes or clinical referrals when appropriate.

Preparing for an assessment

  • List the daily tasks for which support is wanted and preferences about privacy or communication.
  • Identify the main family contact and the support already provided by relatives or other caregivers.
  • Tell the team about home access, mobility concerns and the times when help is needed.

Keep medical records and detailed health information out of general email enquiries. If an assessment is arranged, the team explains how to share information appropriately.

Questions about this service

Frequently asked questions

How is personal care different from home nursing?

Personal care helps with everyday living. Nursing involves clinical assessment or procedures performed by a qualified professional. We identify both types of need during assessment.

Can I discuss overnight or live-in support?

Yes. Contact the team with the care needed and preferred schedule. We discuss the responsibilities, coverage and costs before agreeing an extended arrangement.

Can family members help shape the routine?

Yes, with the person’s agreement. We involve relevant family contacts and work around preferences, familiar routines and the support already in place.
